Plant up colour

As we head into the winter months, think about planting up a host of spring-flowering shrubs and perennials:

• Spring flowering shrubs include Cape may, flowering plums, peaches and cherries.
• Spring-flowering climbers include Carolina jasmine, Chinese jasmine, petrea, banksia rose, and wisteria.
• For an abundance of spring blooms, fertilise spring-flowering plants once a month from May till the end of flowering and water regularly.
