Here’s how to give the queen of flowers a starring role in your home.
Sitting pretty
Create a cake stand with a delightful difference simply by combining a rose bowl arrangement with a pretty glass plate…
Mirror, mirror on the wall…
Give an unassuming mirror a new lease on life with a garland of paper roses. Cut large circles out of decorative paper, then cut these into spiral shapes that snake inwards. Roll each from the tip inwards to form a tightly coiled funnel. Holding it at the bottom, let go of the top to release the inner furls, thus creating your rose. Finally, secure with glue.
French flair
Fill pretty teacups and glasses with fresh, fragrant roses to create a sense of opulence in your living room.

Wreathed in romance
Make a spring wreath of pale pink and yellow roses softened with spring blossoms and blushing bride. First soak a circle of florist’s foam in water overnight and then allow your creativity free rein. Hang this romantic wreath on your door, then use it on a cake stand as the centrepiece for your dinner table.

Nectar of the gods
Fill a glass jar with fresh, fragrant rose petals from your garden and top up with honey. Add a dash of rosewater and allow the mixture to stand for a few days, turning it over occasionally. Serve the honey with a stack of fresh pancakes, berries and fresh rose petals.

Crisscross
All you need to create a striking tablecloth or runner is a few broad strips of ribbon or rose-patterned fabric…

Freeze frame
Perk up your party by taking refreshment to another level. Simply pop a few edible flowers into your ice trays, top with water and freeze. Then put these snazzy ice cubes into your ice bucket or ice bath. Impressive!
