It’s that time of year again when we call on all DIYers, novice and leisure home renovators… That’s right, we’re kicking off our annual Fix it with Flair competition! And we’re hoping you, our loyal readers, are ready to hit the nail on the head with your entries of fabulous, inspiring and innovative home improvements – they just keep getting better!

So, if you think your house is too small or too old, we’re hoping that the fabulous prizes we’re offering are reason enough to get re-acquainted with your toolbox and tackle that problem room or outside space. Home magazine is dedicated to making this competition bigger and better every year, so keep an eye out for the March issue to see what great prizes we’ve come up with.

Home will showcase all 10 finalists in our August issue and then hand the reins over to you to vote for your top three finalists. These finalists will then be announced in the October issue and final judging will take place at our prestigious annual Gala Event in November.

The Prize Our judging panel will select up to 10 semi-finalists who will each win product vouchers worth R2 500 from Pennypinchers and Timbercity. Ultimately, three lucky finalists will be chosen. The first and second runners-up will each receive a voucher worth R3 500 and the winner, who will be announced at the Fix it with Flair gala event, will walk off with R25 000 worth of product vouchers from Pennypinchers and Timbercity.

    Question:

I’ve just entered there fix it with flair competition which closes tomorrow,
but I see the top 10 finalists will be in the August issue which is already out?

Does this mean that the closing date was wrong and we have missed it?!?!?!

    Please let me know.

      Hi Candice,
Fix it with Flair is an ongoing competition.
So your entries will roll over into the next round for 2013.

Pathetic reply! How can you advertise a closing date for entries and pick ten before that date?
Then fob off the late yet legal entries as eligible for next year? We also would have entered by the due date but as subscribers received our August edition of the mag to find out this farce-closing -date. All already decided. Sad but extremely bad management and planning!

    I’m confused ?

Why would the rules of the competition state that it closes on the 17th of July when in actual fact you’ve already chosen the finalists and printed them in the Aug edition ?

Why then extend the competition until tomorrow ? Why not close a month earlier and clearly state that all submissions will be considered next year ?

I don’t know how you choose a winner. I think that all of the entries are amazing & each entrant has such vision in what they have achieved in their home makeovers. They are all winners in my mind.
