I recently browsed around some of my favourite shops and found a couple of things that caught my eye. Let me know what you think of these…
A cute doormat to welcome guests is a must for every home – whether you live in a flat, townhouse or mansion. This one is from a wide variety available from Mr Price Home. More than anything I simply love the words on this one!
Never underestimate the power of tablecloth weights. If you entertain outdoors often especially here in Cape Town, you’ll need a set of these to stand your ground against the wind. These pretty teapots (set of four) in a pewter shade are available from Home etc.
Script or words and letters on just about every surface have become so popular. This rectangular serving platter is from Mr Price Home. There’s also a range of other crockery including plates and mugs with a script finish. And the biggest surprise of all… Mr Price Home now also stocks wallpaper and vinyl wall stickers.
I was so excited when I saw this giant teacup and saucer set and I’m not even a gardener. The giant cup has drainage holes so you can place an entire pot plant in it. Get it for the gardener in your life, from Home etc.
A galvanised bucket can be very versatile. Use it in your bathroom to place all your shampoos and body washes, or in your garden or use it to make the stunning water feature in our March 2012 issue – simply replace the plastic pot. These are from Game and cost from about R89. If you’re an avid gardener don’t skip this store for your tools and other garden paraphernalia, they have a couple of gems.
These embossed towels from Mr Price Home is a must to add a luxurious touch to your bathroom. They feel so plush and are just so darn beautiful! Definitely going back for mine.

Wow! I love all those items, especially that they are found at some of my favourite stores too, which means they don’t cost a fortune either. The doormat and towels are on my end of month shopping list

I actually like what you’ve acquired here, certainly like what you are saying and the way in which you say it. You make it entertaining and you still take care of to keep it smart.
