BLOG: By Johané Neilson
Last year one of my favourite décor blogs, Bloesem, featured a wonderful cross-stitch mural by Dutch designer Eline Pelinkhof and I was smitten.
Feast your eyes!

I loved the colours that Eline used and the soft touch the mural added to this bedroom. It reminded me of my own headboard-less bed and I immediately wanted to paint my own. As with most of my DIY projects my husband had to help!

First I selected a cross-stitch pattern of a pansy. Then counted the squares so hubby could draw a pencil grid of the dimentions on the wall. Next I coloured in the pattern in coloured pencil to figure out the colour placement of the design. The painting process involved a lot of counting on my part, but I liked the finished project.
Ta-da! If you don’t want to paint directly on the wall you could always make a canvas.

Here’s some more eye candy from Eline’s portfolio.

Eline at work.

I wouldn’t mind a blind like this in my kitchen. Sigh.

I love this owl for a children’s bedroom!I love how Eline calls her beautiful handiwork “embroidered” wall paper.
